Like most say, it depends on the property. I’m a believer in gas combi boilers if the house size suits. Filling a bath however does take longer with a combi and they will just about run 2 showers at the same time. If you regularly use 2 or more showers you will need a gas system boiler.

Started fitting heat pumps 10yrs ago failed miserably Impossible as a retro fit I even fitted 48 kw heat pumps which are monstrous that had many problems .

Retro fitting heat pumps is not the, N solution,unless doing a full bare brick refurb . Hydrogen boilers etc are the only viable option for these older existing properties

Sorry to say but still a great believer in fossil fuels the over all consensus I’m getting back unless your hose is fairly new and well insulated heat pumps don’t work aswell as gas or oil and are very costly to run.

Heat pumps work well for a building that is designed for them , retrofitting heat pumps into older properties can be a little problematic and very expensive . I am sure the technology will get better but at present I wouldnt retrofit a heat pump into an older property, stick with the dinosaur juice for older properties. In.
